Event Report
Orientation Session
The program began with an interactive orientation on amphibians. The session introduced students to:
• What amphibians are
• Different types of amphibians
• Amphibians found across India
• Their ecology and habitats
• Interesting behaviours and adaptations
• Fascinating facts about amphibians
• The ecological importance of frogs and other amphibians
• Key differences between frogs and toads
The session was designed to be fun, engaging, and interactive, rather than a conventional classroom lecture. Students were encouraged to ask questions and share their observations.
The students responded enthusiastically and opened up during the discussion. They asked questions spontaneously and interacted actively throughout the session, demonstrating their curiosity about frogs, toads, their habitats, behaviour, and unique adaptations.
Creative Activity
Following the orientation, a short creative activity was conducted. The students were asked to prepare a poster featuring a frog drawing along with five interesting key features or facts they had learned during the session.
The students came up with several creative ideas and expressed their understanding through their drawings and written observations. The activity encouraged them to recall the information from the orientation and present it in their own creative ways.
One handmade poster created by Sarbani Nag, featuring the key differences between frogs and toads, was presented to the Headmistress of the school. The poster will be displayed at the school as an educational resource for the students.
