Behavior Change Workshop, Day 2
Dr. Laura Perry, Castlerock Conservation, United Kingdom
Conservationist with ten years of practice in the Human Dimensions of wildlife, helping organizations apply behavior change science to secure conservation outcomes.
SAVE THE FROGS! Founder Dr. Kerry Kriger and Dr. Laura Perry of Castlerock Conservation will host a workshop on conservation behavior change on November 12th and 13th, 2026. Over the course of two half-days, participants will explore themes relating to behavior change, including stakeholder engagement, monitoring and evaluation, community dialogue and co-design. There will be specific focus on the over-harvesting of wild frogs for food and medicinal uses.
This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of which mechanisms can be used to drive behavior change, and how they can be incorporated into day-to-day conservation practice. By participating in this workshop, we expect attendees to go away with a deeper understanding of how various tools and approaches can be used to better integrate behavior change into their conservation work, and the most appropriate methodologies to use in that endeavor.
The workshop focuses on a COM-B model of behavior: for any Behavior (B) to occur, a person must have the Capability (C), Opportunity (O), and Motivation (M) required to perform it.
Dr. Perry will provide guidance as to resources and approaches that may be useful as participants continue to integrate behavior change into their conservation activities.
Who should attend
The ideal participant for this workshop is someone responsible for decision-making in relation to a specific project, or overseeing the planning of conservation activities. This course is for you if:
- You are trying to incorporate people and their behavior more consciously into your conservation projects;
- Your conservation activities include education, outreach, or awareness-raising;
- You have field conservation campaigns with complicated stakeholder dynamics;
- You would like to use behavior change science to better achieve your goals and increase the impact of your outreach strategies.
The workshop will be capped at 25 attendees.
Tuition $150, covered for invited participants by SAVE THE FROGS! Scholarships.
Please attend both days. Registration is for the whole workshop: Thursday November 12 and Friday November 13, 2026, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM London time (5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Dhaka time) each day. If you cannot attend both days, please let us know right away, so your place can go to another amphibian conservationist.
